We meet with you as a team for all meetings.
We strongly believe that having two or more professionals will only improve the advice we recommend, and strengthen the relationship we want to build.

Bob is a wealth manager and works together with the Elmwood team to serve clients in financial planning, investment management, tax planning, and estate planning. Bob co-founded Elmwood with Shannon Lemon in 2012 when they decided to create a wealth management firm that focused on the overall financial health and well-being of each client. Elmwood meets with all clients as a team, enabling us to expand our services and expertise. Bob enjoys meeting directly with clients to plan and communicate on all aspects of their personal financial situation. He particularly appreciates helping clients with needs of which may not fall under our ‘traditional’ services, such as extended family financial matters, career opportunities, and small business planning.
Bob received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a past board member of the CFA Institute of San Francisco where he also served as a business mentor and volunteered for the Global Research Challenge. Bob has been a guest lecturer at the Berkeley Haas School of Business and has taught adult education courses in investment management throughout the Bay Area.
Prior to co-founding Elmwood, Bob worked for Osborne Partners Capital Management for 18 years and was their Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and a principal of the firm. He was a voting member of the four-person investment committee responsible for choosing individual securities and setting asset allocations for over $1 billion of client funds. Bob also had sole responsibility for setting strategy for their approximately $300 million bond portfolio, as well as all equity trading strategies. Bob also worked in the trust department at Union Bank of California performing trading, research and operational work, and on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange yelling and flashing hand signals in both the S&P 500 futures and Yen foreign currency pits.
Bob and his wife live in Berkeley, California with their two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys skiing and playing tennis.
Shannon is a Certified Financial Planning Professional™. Shannon works directly with clients in all aspects of their wealth management from financial planning, investment management, estate planning and tax planning. It is important for Shannon to create synergy between a client’s personal and financial goals to ensure their assets are invested to reflect those goals.
Prior to co-founding Elmwood Wealth Management, Shannon worked for Osborne Partners Capital Management for 18 years and was their Chief Compliance Officer and a principal of the firm. Shannon provided financial planning services to the firm’s clients. In addition, Shannon was responsible for the oversight of both their Client Service and Operations Teams. Shannon was a founding Board Member, and served as the President of the Board for the Advent Users Group, a non-profit organization that addresses specific needs in portfolio management.
Shannon received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2002, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association of the East Bay. Julie believes that financial planning doesn’t have to feel intimidating. Since joining the firm in 2015, she’s been known for turning complex decisions into clear, manageable steps—whether a client is navigating a new career change, buying a home, stock compensation, or adjusting after the loss of a loved one.
With a background in finance and a CFP® certification earned in 2022, she brings both technical precision and a calm, client-first approach to every plan she builds. Before becoming a planner, she spent years in operations, giving her a deep understanding of how all the pieces of a financial life fit together. That, combined with her earlier career in merchandise planning, makes her a natural at seeing both the big picture and the fine print.
She’s especially passionate about cash flow—analyzing it, optimizing it, and helping clients feel confident about where their money is going and why. Her goal is always the same: make the process as easy and stress-free as possible, and deliver service that feels personal, responsive, and genuinely helpful.
Outside of work, you’ll find her in group fitness classes, catching up with friends, or pitching in at community cleanups.

Katie received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming and then earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2025.
Katie lives in Oakland with her husband and young daughter. Outside of work, you can find her exploring local hiking trails, going for bike rides with her family, or curling up with a good book.
